Digg: Rounded corners without images
It’s been awhile since I did a ‘web_development’ post, so here we go. I found this on digg, and it is a really great idea. I recently had to code some pretty difficult designs with rounded corners and used images. If I had the motivation, I’d probably update them using this technique.
The article:
Rounded Corners with CSS are a hot topic in web design: I think that there are hundreds of articles on them. This page is intended to present the solution I came up, that doesn’t requires images, extra markup nor CSS.
New Orleans was lucky, not emotional, and I wasn’t!
First off, yet me start buy saying, I just got beat in Fantasy Football. It was by less then 10 points. Why did I finally lose in week 3? Well, I could’ve won. Vick or Crumpler (or both) had to get a touchdown. Easy as that. Did the ‘Emotional’ New Orleans Saints defense stop them? Was it the crowd noise? It was none of those. It was luck. Alge Crumpler dropped a perfectly delivered pass in the end zone. How the hell does that happen!? Not to mention it seemed like all at least 10 other incomplete passes from Vick should have been caught. Offensive Pass Interference because his finger hit him, and on at least like 3 other plays no Defensive Pass Interference? How the hell does that happen? It was unbelievable how all the Atlanta Falcons receivers could not catch shit, and people will probably blame it on Vick.
Yeah, Yeah, I am happy the Saints won. I think Drew Brees is great, same for Reggie Bush. I agree completely with Steve Young who said that while emotion may have been high, it was the play calling that made it so the Saints won. Everything from a gadget play too brining a guy in from all the way left to the middle on a punt. It was awesome play calling, not EMOTION. It was luck that miraculously the Saints never got 1 penalty, maybe the refs were emotional. I’m not trying to take any credit away from them. They played a great game, but it was not because of EMOTION. It was good play calling and a little luck, or as Steve Young put it “Tactical”. So remember that.
Oh…by the way, I just dropped Vick and Crumpler. Time to try Rex Grossman and John Gilmore. GO CHICAGO BEARS! (yep, I said it) On a side note, I did have Greg Jennings this week. He’s staying, so GO GREEN BAY PACKERS as well. (pheww… let’s pretend I did not say GO CHICAGO BEARS above).
Rant: Crutches suck
So, I recently sprained my ankle. Naturally I have to not have weight on it for a few days. I got some crutches, and wow, they hurt so much. First, since your only swinging the one foot, and standing on the one foot all the time, that foot hurts. It goes up to the leg. Right under your armpits (where the crutch hits) hurts from constant pressure. Your hands hurt from the damn handles.
Oh yeah, my right ankle hurts so much it has gone numb. A piece of advice: Never sprain your ankle.
Rant: I’ve tried Stride Gum
…and it certainly may last longer then other gums, it still doesn’t last as long as I believe they could make it last. The commercials on tv for it are getting pretty annoying. Obviously production has not stopped, otherwise the company would be bankrupt and not have commercials.
Anyway, I’ve only bought one pack, and it was a while ago and I have been meaning to write about this for awhile now. If anyone from Stride is reading this, I’ll update this post if you send me a free sample. Just reply with a comment to this post.
Thank you!
Paris Hilton gives a homeless man $100
Apparently, TMZ.com recently got a video tape of Paris Hilton meeting a Homeless man in a McDonald’s Drive-thru. She posed for pictures with the guy, as well as gave him $100. It just goes to show you a few things. First off, that Paris Hilton is generous, despite what some may think. Second, the flip side is that Paris Hilton might be too filthy rich. I mean who just gives $100 bills to strangers? More then that, why was it all crumpled up? I mean, does she not think that’s a alot of money? After all, she could get like 10 meals at McDonald’s with that. Lastly, Why is Paris Hilton going to McDonald’s?
