2007 is here!

At the time of this writing, it is 3:46am. I was busy with celebration up until now, so I could not make this post any earlier. Happy New Year to all of my readers, and everyone out there. It was pretty fun for me this year.

The Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears with a score of 26, the same amount the bears scored on them in the first week (yeah, the bears got 7 this game, we got 0 in that game, but the losing score is meaningless). I spent new years in a bar and got some free wine, which actually tasted good! Normally, I haven’t been a wine drinker, but it might be something I may start at some point.

At the bar something kind of cool happened. I knew a bar tender from a class a few semesters back, and had recently been re-introduced to her thanks to a mutual friend. When I needed a drink, I found a spot at the bar, thanks to a nice guy who saw money in my hand and ushered me to come forward (pointing out that the people next to him already had drinks). He told me he had been waiting about 5 min, and hoped he’d be served soon, and that he’d tell them to serve me next. I thanked him for this. Only thing is, when I called the bartender’s name (since I knew her), she served me first, and I helped him out by telling her to serve him next. I’m guessing that guy was pretty happy to help me get a spot, as without me, who knows how long he would have had to wait. Lesson: always be nice to your bartenders, and other people waiting for drinks. (by the way, I gave her a $1 tip as well! … in case you were wondering)
