My inevitable car replacement
My current car is a 1992 Nissan Sentra. It runs great but sounds like a semi. It has emission testing in July. I don’t want to replace it yet, but I’ll have to eventually, so I have been weighing my options. I think repairs could be very costly since the car is so old, and pretty much rusting away (even though not much rust is visible on the outside, the under body is disgusting).
I’ve been looking at some classifieds using this great site I found:

Basically, I started just by looking up a Nissan Sentra to replace my existing one. At the time I looked the site had a 2002 Nissan Sentra listed for $6,500 which is not bad at all. It even is a manual transmission, which is something I cannot live without. In the wise words of my friend Ryan, “I don’t want my car to do anything I can do by myself.” Shifting is one of these things. Here’s the flip side to this though, my 92 Nissan Sentra is at about 96,000 miles. The 2002? 86,000 miles. Fuel Economy? Let’s just say double, and let you figure out which car. It makes me not want to get rid of my 1992 Sentra.
What do all of you guys think? I personally love my Sentra, and in all reality don’t see a good reason why it’s replacement shouldn’t be a newer one. Nevertheless, I am open to suggestions as to possible replacements. Feel free to use LemonFree to search for Used Cars and give me some links! I can’t afford a new car.
