How to become a Splinter Cell (for deer hunting)

As every reader of my site should already know, I am a professional ninja and I win at everything. Of course both of those things are related to the awesome Xbox 360 game, Splinter Cell. I was bored and thinking, what would it take to really become a splinter cell? I don’t mean actually joining the military either, as that is obvious. I am simply talking about in the perspective of being a stealthy guy and having some cool stuff to do fun stuff. Maybe a Splinter Cell to hunt the “venison-kong” (a nickname one of the guys I go hunting with gave to deer).

The first thing on my list was night vision goggles. Sam Fisher wannabes have to have these. Night vision, or being able to see your enemy in the dark, is one of the most important features of Splinter Cell. You can’t hunt deer in the dark, but to sneak around and see them hitting your bait pile would be very cool I think.

The next thing might be an eotech or bushnell rifle scope. This will enable you to zoom in on the deer with the utmost accuracy. In my experience hunting, seeing, shooting, and killing deer are very different things. Each one present challenges. With a good scope, the ladder (killing) becomes easier.

Finally, once your prey has been shot and killed, flashlights come in handy to find it. Blood trails could be hard to see with night vision, but a good flash light could make it very easy.

The only other thing a Splinter Cell setup for deer hunting might need is some better clothes then all blaze orange, but I don’t want to get shot either, so I think I’ll keep that.

If anyone would like to help me in my quest to become a Splinter Cell (for deer hunting), click the image below to go to a great site for splinter cell type gadgets.

The theme of this post is meant to be a joke combing 2 of my interests: video games and deer hunting.

Movie Review: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

Considering my blog just hit the 6 month mark, I decided to go back and look at my old posts. It’s remarkable that my last movie review was THX 1138 on November 5th. The truth of the matter is though, I have not seen to many new movies recently. I’ve just been too busy with other things to watch movies. In a lot of my free time, I play Xbox 360. Nevertheless, I do watch some movies still. One of the these movies was for my friends site, bottom 100.com. As of this writing “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” is rated as the 84th worst movie of all time on his list.

I don’t think it belongs on the list. Sure, looking at it from the perspective of a 22 year old it is a little corny. However, I think for little kids it provides a decent look into science fiction mixed with Christmas. When I tried, I could not think of any other movie that mixes Christmas with science fiction. Many seem to laugh at the costumes of the movie. I do agree, again, they’re very corny. However, it’s not totally unprobable that Martians really don’t have antennas growing out of their heads. It was a great way to differentiate them from earthlings.

The movie title is almost a bit like “Snakes on a Plane” and is maybe one of the worst faults of the movies. The title makes it pretty clear what the movie is about. The Martian children are taught very advanced stuff at a very young age. Thus, they never have toys or any fun at all. The leader of Mars decides to investigate how earth children get toys and have fun. It’s Santa! (don’t worry, this does not give away the plot anymore then the title does)

I’ll rate this movie 3/5 stars, but only because of the corniness of it. Overall, it is a good movie for children, I think.

Apogee, a Google Certified Search Engine Optimization Company

I know that many of my readers are into Search Engine Optimization as well as Search Engine Marketing. One such SEO Company that can help with this is Apogee Search. Apogee recently gained certification from Google Adwords. From the press-release:

Apogee Search revealed today, that in early Q3 of 2006 it met Google’s requirements to attain recognition as a Google AdWords Qualified Company, becoming the first pure-play SEM (Search Engine Marketing) agency in Texas to achieve this status, and one of only 35 such companies in the nation at the time (now up to 44).

It’s amazing to think that only 44 companies have been certified by Google. The article goes on to say what an important step this for a search engine marketing company. I could not agree more! It’s nice to see strong legitimate companies shine through on the internet. Although I’m not ready to pay a service to help me generate traffic, I know some of my readers are. Will any of you use Apogee? or maybe you’ve already used it?
