NFL Draft is this weekend…I’m excited!
My team, the Packers lost Brett Favre this off-season. Next year with Aaron Rodgers at the helm will be an interesting year. One might say that the Green Bay Packers could use all the help that they can get. I will be watching all the nfl picks in the draft waiting patiently for the Green Bay Packers picks to come up. (Since the Packers made it so deep into the playoffs they’re pick is #30, only the Giants have a higher first round pick.)
The Green Bay Packers have been doing pretty well finding talent in the draft as of late. Greg Jennings is really shaping up to be a star wide receiver. A. J. Hawk is quickly becoming a star linebacker. Deshawn Wynn before he got insured really showed some greatness, and he will be an excellent backup to the likely starter, Ryan Grant. Nick Barnett continues to improve each year as well.
While I don’t think the Green Bay Packers have any pressing needs right now, they’re picks will reflect some important future need. I think they’ll look at getting some Cornerbacks. As awesome as Al Harris and Charles Woodson are, the reality is that they might not be on the team in 3-5 years. Finding good conerbacks to replace them will be hard so it’s better to start looking now, rather than later. Otherwise the Packers might look at a Tight End to be on the other side of Donald Lee as in more or less wide open since the Packers let Bubba Franks go.
Going to Green Bay

The NFC Championship is in Green Bay! I am going to be there. I am going to try my hardest to get tickets to go into Lambeau field for just my second time. If I don’t though, I will tailgate and I will find a bar to stay warm in Green Bay during the game. The Green Bay Packers are back! I am so happy right now! I hope to see all of you there. If you’ve ever thought about commenting on my blog, comment on this one. Show your excitement. Any Packer bashing to this post will be deleted.
Btw, Bryan, you owe me $! I forget how much it was, but yeah…
Go Green Bay Packers!!
*knock on wood*
I lost Fantasy Football 1st Place by just 1 point
I cannot believe this! I was so excited this year. I entered fantasy football playoffs as the 3rd seed this year, and one the first match-up. 4th place also upset 1st place (the one with Tom Brady), so it was a battle between the 3rd seed and 4th seed for league domination in the end. I decided to play my odds and pick up Dieon Branch and bench Chris Chambers. It turned out to be a terrible decision, as I lost in the final round of the playoffs 147-146.
My name was Anchorage Eskimos:

Judging by the icon, I got beat by a girl, I think. That seems to be a common thing in Fantasy Football. I just don’t understand it. Surely it’s all just luck.
Still though, in my second year of Fantasy Football with the same group, I’ve gone from 4th to 2nd. I’d say that’s pretty good.
Update on my NFL Predictions
Before the current NFL Season started, I made 10 predictions. So far, 4 are right, 2 are wrong, 2 are on-going, and 1 is up for debate, but I say it’s correct.
Correct Predictions
- Indianapolis Colts will not go 16-0
- Randy Moss will have a good year in New England, his best in years
- Vince Young will get injured and be out at least 1 game or do very poorly (Madden Curse)
- Aaron Kampmann will record 10 sacks as long as he plays every game
Arguably you may say a lot of these were obvious. Nevertheless, there is never any guarantees in the NFL. Randy Moss and Aaron Kampmann could have gotten hurt. Some might say the Colts did not go 16-0 because of injuries to Dallas Clark and Marvin Harrison, so in many ways I predicted those injuries. The one that is most amazing to me though is how easy it is to predict failure for the person on the cover of Madden ‘08 and speaking of that, it looks like Vince Young and the Titans will miss the playoffs this year.
Wrong Predictions
- Devin Hester on Offense will bring the Bears back to the playoffs
- The San Fransisco 49ers will make the playoffs
Devin Hester on Offense (and Special Teams) surely made an impact on the Bears and did in fact help them to win some games, but I guess it wasn’t enough to help them win enough games to make the playoffs. As for the 49ers, they looked promising last year, with a sleeper running back and decent QB, but this year have just fallen apart somehow. I will probably make the same prediction next season for Arizona. Someone is going to overtake the Seattle Seahawks in that division.
On-going Predictions
- Donald Driver will reach 15 TD’s
- Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers will have the most yards for a receiver in the NFC
- I will win fantasy football
It seems un-likely that Donald Driver will reach 15 TD’s. However, I never said that these predictions did not include the playoffs, so it is still possible. Entering the first week of playoffs in fantasy football, I am one of the top 4 seeds, so I am still in contention to win. As for Steve Smith, he could still reach this goal, but losing a solid QB has affected his season.
Green Bay Packers will make the playoffs despite the fact Brett Favre will not make it to the end of the season
I would argue that this one is correct. The Green Bay Packers are in the playoffs and Brett Favre more or less missed the entire Dallas Cowboys game. It has been said that he may even sit out a few games towards the end of the season along with some other starters if the Packers have already clinched a first-round bye.
A Quick update on the NFL Season
So, I am trying to focus my blog a little more on Keira Knightley and celebrities in general, but that being said, every once in a while I am still going to throw in some sports posts. Usually they’ll be like this, including things that in the past would have been multiple posts over time.
- I’m 4-2 and ranked 4th in Fantasy Football. However, I’m only 4th because of points. If I win and Bryan of BrewCrew Blog wins I could move into 2nd, even first if I get enough points.
- The Green Bay Packers are 5-1 going into their bye week. Nobody, not even me, expected that.
- The Prediction I made that Randy Moss would have his best season is years has come true.
- The Madden Curse strikes, Vince Young is injured.
