I finally started working on the actual ‘Portfolio’ page. While, it may see some changes, it at least has content now. You can go to this page and see the various projects I’m currently working on and projects I have worked on in the past.

You may also notice that I have given the site a new wordpress theme. I have done some modifications to this theme to make it to my liking, but many more are coming!

I like Windows Vista. I’m very much a fan of luna/aero (whatever you want to call it). The sidebar is a cool fad as well, but I did eventually take it away. Anyway, my computer recently seemed to be slowing down and/or freezing. Rather than run countless spyware scanners or do something else crazy, I decided it would be a great time for a fresh start.

1. Insert the Toshiba ‘Restore’ discs
2. Remove all the extra Toshiba stuff (except WindDVD, CD/DVD Drive Acoustic Silencer, and some other useful apps.
3. Install Avira AntiVir (free-av.com)
4. Install all available Windows (and other Microst app) Uppdates
5. Install Web Browsers (all of them, since I’m a developer): Firefox (with Firebug and other plugins), Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer 8, and even Google Chrome
6. Install Pidgin: turn on transparency, install Facebook IM Plugin, turn off Details, and other minor tweaks
7. Install Audio/Video apps: Audacity, Real Time Alternative, Media Player Classic
8. Install other apps: jEdit (Advanced Text Editor), Picasa 3 (Photo Organizer). imgBurn (CD/ISO Burning Utility), doPDF (PDF Maker/Printer Drvier)
9. Install Sharpkeys and use it to map the Windows keys to Ctrl keys (so I don’t get confused when I switch between Mac OS X and Windows)

Did I miss anything?

I got my first Playstation 3 achievments trophies yesterday! Since no other games support trophies yet, the trophies are in Stardust HD (the Playstation Network exclusive). If I remember right, I am 21% complete with Stardust HD currently. For those interested, my PSN name is ‘apexad’ (as if that’s a surprise).

As a former Xbox 360 owner, I missed having an ‘achievement’ system built into the system and I am really happy that PS3 has it now. I am hoping that I will be able to reach 100% in a game very soon. I don’t think that game will be Stardust HD though. Stardust HD is fun, and maybe it could get addicting, but in the end the difficulty and satisfaction will likely turn me away from it as soon as other games begin getting trophies, like Burnout Paradise for example!

I have just created an ‘About me’ page that explains what this site will be all about. I’m a web developer both at work and in my free time. This site will serve as a daily log for my own benefit and a ‘portfolio site’ for the benefit of anyone interested in my work.

While the majority of posts will be about the websites I create, there may be at times posts about what is going on in my life. This might include posts about attending brewers games, something exciting that I bought (mostly electronics), playstation 3 games, or even the occasional movie review.

I am not planning on making a posts once a day or even once a week. I will make posts when I deem it necessary.
