Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1

It doesn’t seem like Internet Explorer 7 has really even been out for that long, but it has. Internet Explorer 8 is the future now. Sadly I am at work right now and not on a Windows machine, but I am planning on testing this out on my Windows machine when I get home later today. If you haven’t heard about Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, go check out the info page: Internet Explorer 8.

The webslices feature certainly looks interesting, but if it will actually be something people use is anyone’s guess. Also, it’s not like Microsoft to have HTML 5.0 support in a browser when HTML 5.0 is still in the draft stages. It’s even suppose to be fully CSS 2.1 compatible. It will truly be an amazing thing if Microsoft can accomplish this.

Halo 3 Beta comes out tomorrow!

I have been waiting for this day for a very long time. I really only bought Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta, but like a lot of people I am happy that I bought it. It has turned out to be a very good game. Nevertheless, even with that fact you had better believe that I will stop playing Crackdown when the Halo 3 beta comes out. Actually I will probably put most XBox 360 games aside for a little bit. I am looking forward to Halo 3 that much!

I can barely ever wake up before 10:00 AM on most days, but I am going to try my best to get up at 5:00 AM PDT (which is 7:00 AM, my time) to be one of the first people to download and play the beta. Of course everyone that bought Crackdown is probably thinking exactly the same thing, but that is okay considering I will need people to actually play with!

One thing I really really hope for in the Beta is that it have at least 1 achievement. No other demo of a game has ever had achievements, but Halo 3 is generally not considered to just be another game. Otherwise, I’ve seen all the videos, and I am ready!

An exciting Super Bowl weekend

First off, I apologize for not posting anything over the weekend. I was pretty buys throughout it, and barely even went on a computer. Yes, I watched the Super Bowl. I guess I am happy the Colts won it. They certainly deserved it. However, I am disappointed that Dominic Rhodes & Joesph Addai did not get a co-mvp or something because I think they deserved it more then Peyton Manning did. Peyton played a great game, as he always does, but I think the running backs for Indianapolis really stepped up. That Colts defense did a hell of a job as well.

In Xbox 360 news, I decided to trade in Splinter Cell: Double Agent (since I beat it) and MotoGP ‘06 (since I did not really like it) to get Perfect Dark: Zero and Madden 2006 (since I was thinking about football)! I really would rather get Madden 2007, but since I just had to pay rent with the new semester starting, $15 instead of $45 (used) or $60(new) when Madden 2008 is coming out in 6 months anyway seemed better. I also bought the Crackdown $5 Pre-Order at Best Buy so that I can get a copy of the Halo 3 Multiplayer beta.

Halo 3 beta coming in spring 2007

Microsoft and Bungie have announced that they will release a pre-release version of the Halo 3 multi-player engine in Spring 2007. Halo 3 is currently slated for a November 2007 release, so this is quite a bit before the full game hits retail stores. Let’s be honest too, most people want Halo 3 for the multi-player, single player in Halo has never been a selling point.

There is something tricky though. The demo is not going to be available to the general public, only a select few. There are a couple ways you can try to score a copy. There is more in the official announcement from Microsoft, which you can read here.

I recently bought an Xbox 360, so this is great news. I plan to enter the “Rule of Three” contest, and if I have to I will buy Crackdown. At first glance I do not know if I will like Crackdown, bu the way I see it, I am getting much more if I buy it.

The other good news is that around the same time, Microsoft is suppose to release exclusive Xbox 360 maps for Halo 2. The reason behind this all is because the 5th year anniversary of the Halo series is around this time.
