Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

If you think this is the first time I’ve discussed boxing on my blog, think again. A search for Fight Night should bring up several posts about my experiences with the Xbox 360 game.

So, remembering that I’ve gotten all 1000 gamer points in Fight Night Round 3 it should come as no shock that I am interested in some De La Hoya vs Mayweather tickets, as I enjoy boxing just as much as the next person. This fight is sure to not disappoint either.

This will be the second fight between these two and the first one broke all PPV records last May in Las Vegas. Oscar ‘Golden Boy’ De Le Hoya’s promotion company CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN that the bout is “almost finalized” for September 13 or September 20.

Are you ready for this fight? It’s sure to be a battle worth watching as 2 of the best do the rematch thing to determine who is better once and for all. In the last fight Mayweather won by a split-decision and took De Le Hoya’s junior middleweight belt away from him. Naturally, De Le Hoya should be all practiced up this time, ready to re-earn his belt back.

September 2007 Earnings Report

Money Trees Typically, I don’t see the point in doing these ‘earnings posts’ every month. Nevertheless, since I did one in August, I decided that I would see if more leaves fall off the money tree in September, as that would be a sign that my blog is becoming more and more profitable . Making money off of the great ‘Internet Money Tree’ is and always will be one of the goals of this blog.

As a quick reminder from August, Google Adsense was $16.04, PayPerPost was $309.57 and my total Earnings was $341.94. Here is the breakdown for September:

  • Google Adsense - $16.96
  • PayPerPost - $196.52
  • Text Link Ads - 6.78
  • Subvert and Profit -N/A (Database Move caused problems)

TOTAL: $220.26

I made less this month than last month, but Google Adsense went up, which is the most important. PayPerPost going down is expected since I am trying to be more selective with the sponsored posts I choose. At some point I am actually going to look into some other ways to make money online, but for now I don’t have the time.

September 26th - 1 year + 1 month

Why 1 Year + 1 Month?
Since I was really busy on July 26th, 2007 I decided to delay my blog’s 1 year anniversary post 1 month. This is that post.

The Year in Review
It’s amazing that I have been doing my blog for over a year now. It really does not feel that long. Certainly if I was not able to monetize my blog with PayPerPost and Google Adsene I may not have gone this long.

Over the year my blog has seen many changes. For the heart of my content, as of late, I have decided to mostly come up with intelligent ways to talk about Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell. Then, there is of course the other ’stuff’ a lot of which is paid content or my general thoughts about movies, video games, and life in general.

When recently asked about my greatest accomplishments, having made $1000 on the internet in a little more than a year ranks very high on the list. Probably 90-95% of that $1000 is revenue from my blog.

If I could change anything it would be to find ways to get more people to comment on my blog. I often like responding to comments more than writing new posts. Thanks in part to my friend Bush Mackel and my new friends Opal Tribble and Chuck I’ve decided to seriously clean up and refine the content that goes on my blog. This means that at least for awhile I will once again be a little more selective with paid posts. I am hoping this will help me establish my audience better and get return visitors which will hopefully comment.

The Future
The other important thing I want to try to do is add pictures to nearly ever post to spice them up a little bit.

In the past couple of weeks I hope you have seen some of these changes starting to show up. You don’t know how much I have been tempted to make the following 3 posts all about the number 3: The Green Bay Packers and I share 3-0 records in Football and Fantasy Football, I beat Halo 3 Campaign on Normal already, and I’m taking my 3-2 record to another Brewer Game. I did not make those posts because I really want to establish my audience as Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell fans.

As you know, I bought Keirablog.com. I have decided that at some point I will most likely remove/forward all my Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell stuff to there and turn apexad.net into a personal blog about sports and video games. That’s a bit far off though. Within the end of next week though, apexad.net will get a new theme.
